expectations vary, but none has any experience of fighting in a war…

The play follows them on their journey through France until finally they come face to face with the mightiest army in Europe. What happens will change their lives for ever.

This new play by Neil Duffield has been specially commissioned to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt and is supported by Arts Council England and Heritage Lottery Fund.

It will be performed by a cast of young people and will feature imaginative, and state-of-the-art visual and sound effects to create King Henry’s epic battle.

In Conversation with Professor Anne Curry

Ahead of the performance of The Road To Glory Professor Anne Curry, one of the world’s leading experts on Agincourt, author and historical consultant on the Road To Agincourt project, will discuss the battle and its place in our history with Dr Cheryl Butler. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and a book signing by the author.

Anne Curry is Professor of Medieval history and Dean of the Faculty of Huimanities at the University of Southampton, former editor of the Journal of Medieval History, and a specialist in the Hundred Years’ War. She was the president of the Historical Association from 2008 to 2011 and a Vice-President of the Royal Historical Society.

Q&A with Neil Duffield

Award-winning playwright Neil Duffield discusses his career and the process of writing The Road To Glory with its director Daniel Hill. This will also be an opportunity to pose questions in an open discussion with the writer.

Neil Duffield has written more than 50 plays and adaptations which have been staged extensively thorughout the UK and overseas. In 2006, his play The Lost Warrior was awarded the Arts Council England Children’s Award for “work which displays excellence, inspiration and innovation children’s theatre”.
