Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more…

Shakespeare’s immortal words from Henry V echoed around the hall of the Greyladyes Arts Foundation (GAF) in Old Bursledon at the weekend as children and adults prepared for battle in a craft workshop, commemorating the 600th anniversary of Agincourt.

Forget sedate sewing bees and knitting circles, this thrilling workshop saw the participants making and decorating everything from wooden longbows and swords, replica shields, and pole axes to tunics, pennants and armour. They even got to dress up in the finished garb, ready to join King Henry’s epic journey to Agincourt.

The event was hosted by GAF in association with our two-year programme, Road To Agincourt.

All items made in the workshop will now go on display in an exhibition being staged at GAF in School Road, Old Bursledon over the weekend of June 20 and 21. Opening times 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
